Teaching Now Living- Part 19- Person Centered Activities

Ellie's day had become long and boring as she is no longer doing her routine tasks to keep up her home. She had always been a talented seamstress and had taken up quilting when her children were grown. She now enjoys picking out coordinating fabric, cutting it with a template and sewing the pieces together into small quilt renditions. Ellie's daughter patiently guides her by writing down the number of pieces that need to be sewn, helping to lay out the pieces and when the top is completed quilts it for her. The seams may not be as straight but her grandchildren still enjoy the finished product. This activity keeps Ellie very busy and gives her a sense of purpose day to day.

Tip: Finding the right activity based on an individuals life story can bring joy to their life.
